The climate of east LA is far preferable. I find the summer humidity in FL intolerable. Florida definitely has the better beaches though, in SoCal the Pacific is cold all year long.
Florida summers are miserable compared to So.Calif. But if you like sticky and muggy summers go for it...
FL only has 3 months where the summers are brutally humid. Still it beats the June Gloom of LA any day of the week(which can happen all sorts of times during the year).
