How accurate is the Farmer Almanac's long range forecasts. Long Range Weather Forecast for 2016 | The Old Farmer's Almanac
I've been following them for a couple years and at least for the Seattle are they seem fairly accurate. Of course you can never be spot on especially if you are talking about weather that is a month or two ahead of you. they claim an accuracy of 80%. So what are your thoughts? have you ever heard of it before? For those that don't know they only predict weather for the US and Canada. Also if you don't know how to use their website just click on the map on which region you want.

here is there summary for the next two months for the PNW:

OCTOBER 2015: temperature 54.5° (0.5° above avg.); precipitation 3" (avg.); Oct 1-4: Showers, mild; Oct 5-9: Sunny, cool; Oct 10-17: Rainy, cool; Oct 18-27: Sunny, turning warm; Oct 28-31: Rainy, mild.

NOVEMBER 2015: temperature 47° (avg.); precipitation 8.5" (2" above avg.); Nov 1-5: Rainy, mild; Nov 6-7: Sunny; Nov 8-14: Misty, turning cool; Nov 15-19: Heavy rain; Nov 20-22: Sunny, cool; Nov 23-30: Rain, some heavy, turning mild.

And for the rest of the year.

Winter will be cooler and rainier than normal, with above-normal snowfall. The stormiest periods will be throughout November and in early to mid- and mid- to late December, early January, and early March. The coldest periods will be in mid- and late December, late January, and mid- to late February, with the snowiest periods in mid-December, early to mid-January, and mid- to late February.

April and May will be cooler and slightly rainier than normal.

Summer will be warmer and rainier than normal, with the hottest temperatures in mid- and late July and early August.

September and October will be cooler than normal, with rainfall above normal in the north and near normal in the south.
