I went to a Japanese buffet yesterday for lunch and it was delicious. Lots of different kinds of sushi and salad. Think I might have to go back again soon.

I'm not a big fan of sushi, but I do like Oriental food, particularly Chinese.

Have you had Thai?

I've become more fond of it over the years. It's a little healthier as well.

I can't say I've had legitimate Chinese food...just the Americanized version of it. That said, nothing beats a gloppy plate of beef and broccoli. The place near my home has a nice spicy General Tso's chicken dish.

I'm not sure what counts as legitimate Chinese food or if the stuff I like is illegitimate. Chinese food places tend to be Chinese-owned and operated, and they serve Chinese customers, so idk... what makes Chinese food in America illegitimate? I'm curious because I hear this a lot.

I guess I'm not the most adventurous person with food. The 3 main Oriental dishes I like are general tso's chicken, fried rice, and Singapore noodles. Not that I wouldn't like other things, but I don't eat it too often, so I tend to choose the dishes I already know I like.

Good question. I've heard authentic Chinese food tends to be more "exotic" and most likely wouldn't be very palatable to the average American. Perhaps someone here who has more experience with Chinese cuisine can comment.
