Actually, I seem to recall it was Alex I helped install adblock for Firefox. It''s pretty easy, and you won't ever see Youtube ads again.
I've already tried to do that, but, you don't know me, I started feeling guilty after a few weeks, because I thought: "I'm preventing people to earn money, they'll suffer because of me, I don't want it..." and eventually uninstalled that.
Besides adblock, turning off autoplaying videos and turning off flash (I have it set I can mainly click on a flash video to turn it on) removes most resource hungry ads. And non-ads that still are annoying

Lol you're too nice. Trust me, they have plenty of other ways of making money besides youtube ads.
I just hope that more sites will host "Acceptable Ads" soon I hate current ads, which are usually filled up with malvertising, but if "Acceptable Ads" will become common, and I don't sense any bad intention, I can even buy that book/anything that catches my interest.
Of course, with the current ads, when I hover the cursor on the image, all I see is "doubleclick.g.[bla bla bla]", so I feel uncomfortable thinking about clicking on it.
