Exactly. People focus too much on the "tropical' part of sub-tropical too. Funny how people don't split hairs over subarctic climates (which there are plenty that have warm summers, the opposite of subtropical winters with cool winters). I guess if the climate can't grow a palm tree it's not interesting enough to discuss.

Chilly. Right now at 12pm it's a scorching 38°C, with winds gusting at 50km/h. Extreme fire danger in place.

Yakutsk has reached 100F, how can it be called subarctic?

Right now at 7 PM it's -38 C (the opposite of you) but it's calm. The sky is crystal clear with a ton of stars around.

That's not arctic at all!! Summer is the only season that should matter when judging a subarctic climate. Let's ignore the eight months of cold weather. Subarctic climates should never go above 10 C.

Yeah only reason I get into those arguments because they are not really about arguing what's subtropical but rather whether the us south is subtropical. Its pretty silly I don't really post much, only good thing I learned from it was about the invasive plants here in the US. Anyways it wont ever end as long as tom keeps inciting people and bashing the us climate and yhotnas spoof account and Hartford would stop arguing back and being equally as crazy.

Well subarctic is a cold climate that can grow trees, while an arctic climate can't grow trees; so a palm tree-like criteria.

True, but people aren't arguing why a sub-arctic climate isn't covered in tundra...lol

I think it's pretty dumb too. Personally, I think BSk, BSh, BSn, and Csa climates are the ones that interest me. I mean, come on, a tropical location on sea level that has daily means lower than 80 degrees? There's very few places in the world like that, but Americans obsess about the US Southeast who the f cares? It's the most backwards part of the country. Sand dunes are more interesting than palm trees

Yeah, this **** needs to end. And calling it a "flawed" climate is probably the most moronic thing anyone can do. There's no such thing as a flawed climate.

TBH, I understand the vegetation argument. I remember it wasn't until almost the immediate coast till I saw palm trees in South Carolina.
