I'm off-topic, but if I were to pick a place to spend the winter it would be somewhere south of the border, where my dollars would go farther and I'd enjoy getting to know a different culture.

I'd be satisfied with either option. Actually, a two month (Jan/Feb) road trip through the sunbelt states during winter would be nice.

But if I had to pick one place, it'd be South Florida since it's the warmest part of the sunbelt in the winter.

Well, it depends on what the OP considers too cold. It can get down in the low 30's along the coast. I've even seen sleet on the beach in that area.,

Why isn't Hawaii considered part of the sun belt?

It's not connected to the rest of those places via a landmass. The word "belt" implies connectedness.

That aside, you can add Gavilan NM to the list of acceptable places for me. It once hit -50F and also has some decent snow totals.

I think I'll stay in Texas, since it's still the sunbelt. No interest in warmth in winter. I get plenty of it from cozy sweaters ^^

Arizona, California, or New Mexico.

If narrowed down to cities then Flagstaff, Santa Fe, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or preferably somewhere along the central coast of California like Monterey. Tucson does have pleasant winters but Flagstaff actually gets snow and is just as pleasant in the long run.
