I'm not the biggest fan of Northern Europe's climates (UK, Russia, Scandinavia, Germany), but I gotta say that they are "redeemed" by their pleasant, modestly sunny summers. Hot and muggy cities like Hong Kong and parts of southeast Asia do have comfortable winters.

What are yours? Perhaps, for instance, those who would favour the "tropical" summers of NYC and loathe its contintental-esque winters?

I like the thunderstorms in many tropical climates. In fact, many tropical (and I mean deep tropical, not near-Cfa tropical) climates have year round conditions that would be good for summer. It's close to my ideal July, but year round. At least they got July right.

I HATE Glasgow's climate with every fiber in my body but their summers are sunnier than their winters. And my favorite thing about Singapore is that it has a "dryer" period.

Fake Cfa climates and Dfa climates do have nice summers, just the rest of the year is awful.

Yeah, A climates have good summers despite being much too warm the rest of the year. Similar case for the peninsula of Florida, which has the best summers on earth IMO.

If the temps are too constant I look for rainflal patterns, which is more Elnino/lanina cycle thing here

Although I enjoy living in a fairly high latitude of the northern hemisphere, way north in the arctic and subarctic regions it's just too cold for me.
Two good features: Fantastic northern lights displays and moderate summer temperatures that don't require AC.
The best thing, not exactly a weather feature but related: Not overrun with humans.

I'm from Michigan and I hate winters, but the only thing that is nice is when you're walking around at night when it's snowing and you look up and the moonlight and/or streetlights make it look like glitter is falling on you, then you go inside a warm house and snuggle with someone.
