Simferopol is one of the closest if not the closest city in terms of climate and topography in Europe to Denver. Both cities lie on a flat plain on the edge of a mountain chain on the edge of two ecoregions, forest and steppe land. The major difference is that Simferopol isn't as continental given that it is only about 38 km (23.6 mi) from the black sea, and that Simferopol is cloudier and wetter in the winter than Denver. However Simferopol is sunnier and cooler in the summer. So which one do you like better?

Simferopol looks like a drier version of a climate of the coastal Northeast rather than Denver

I don't think there's anything similar in Europe — it doesn't make sense to compare Denver to anyplace in Europe. Perhaps I'm missing a place in Europe, but I doubt there's a comparable place. Central Asia likely has a more reasonable match.

No Central Asia has mediterranean rainfall pattern. The only other region that might have something close is the Caucasus
Tbilisi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tbilisi#Climate
Ganja: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganja,_Azerbaijan#Climate
But of course not anywhere as sunny.

I'll go with Denver for having more sunshine, warmer highs year round and fewer snowy days.

Now that you point it out Simferopol is just a drier version of NYC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City#Climate

Yep, most places in central asia have a spring and autumn increase in rain (although there's not much). e.g. Ashgabat https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashgabat and Bishkek https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishkek

I'll pick Denver over Simferopol.

Here's a more comparable climate and elevation to Denver:

Actually surprisingly I found one where the winter is the dry season, however it's a lot colder than denver

The most similar is probably somewhere in China
