Primary threats are straight line winds and tornadoes

This area is ALREADY under a slight risk

Wow, I'm not sure about any "Weather forum" frequenters who live in Ky., but we do have a member who lives in northern Ms. I hope everything turns out ok.

I expected as much, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the 'risk area' broaden a little more in the next few hours.

I'm in SW OK and it is 79F and climbing... A cold front is supposed to move in later bringing storms. Usually winds up being a clash of titans, with all of us caught in the middle.

They've already expanded the Day 2 risk area once today.

Hello Jammie, yup you are so right. Guess who is watching and monitoring the weather ??? see our latest from the local weather center.

Current
Conditions

Humidity 78%
Barometer 29.78
Since Midnight
High Temp. 77°
Low Temp. 54 °
Rainfall 00.22 in.

AN OUTBREAK OF TORNADIC STORMS A GOOD LIKELIHOOD . . . . .

A major frontal system will pass through the area overnight. Along and ahead of this system we will see an outbreak of severe weather. It is a rare event, however the Storm Prediction Center has put us under a moderate to high risk for severe weather. It is likely that we will see some hail, damaging winds and tornadic storms. Some of the tornadic storms may produce significant tornadoes. What are significant tornadoes?? The type that are on the strong end of the scale. The best likelihood for the severe weather will be from 2 pm to 2 am. Not everybody will get severe weather, however a lot of the area will.
