It varies, but right now, Lincoln, NE. It's relatively temperate, and I like that it's in the middle of the country and a capital city. I wish there were more thunderstorms and rain, though.

Northeast : Southern New England(Connecticut & Rhode Island) and Far Eastern Massachusetts(Boston Area)
Midwest : Central Illinois, Indiana, Ohio along I-70 corridor and Downtown Chicago Area
South : Asheville, Western North Carolina in the lower Blue Ridge Mountains Region
West : Western Washington(near Puget Sound), Western Oregon(Portland Area), Coastal California from San Francisco to San Diego

I have wide and various climate taste according to the different types of Köppen Classification (Dfa & Cfb/Csb), either the climate generally offers annual mean around lower to mid 50s°F(10~13°C) or summer hottest mean temperature is about 72~76°F(22~24°C) range I would gladly take it.

The dry summers are too extreme but I'd go with a wetter spot near the coast of central or northern California. Maybe San Rafael:

SAN RAFAEL CIVIC CTR, CALIFORNIA - Climate Summary

There isn't a more interesting climate precipitation / storm-wise that has the temperature distribution I like; though TommyFL's choice might fit.

Probably somewhere in southern California close to LA...

All other climates that fit my bill of mild/warm winter averages are either prone to ridiculous cold in winter, or are too humid in summer if you go south of 30N

Somewhere in the great plains with january average between -5 and 0c and summers around 25c, with at least 2400 hours of sunshine a year (european style) and not that much rain, no more than 800 mm and 120 days.

This might be the least extreme eastern US climate because it's at elevation. But the winter nights are chilly; almost as cold as New York City January. Cold records given its averages as well.

I assumed central or northern California (such as San Francisco suburbs) would be acceptable.

Seems like an acceptable climate, probably a C from me. Summers look decent enough (warmer lows would be nicer)

Spring and Autumn max temperatures are good, lows a little too chilly though for me
