Imagine if this weather pattern happened in summer. Would be epic. We had a record warm October and this December is well above average here aswell. Current avg MTD highs are 34.2C at my place and 35.1C at the official BOM station. I recorded 3 days over 45C here while the official airport BOM station has seen 7 days over 40C. Super epic.

If this anomaly occurred in summer, then the averages would look like this...

June: 26.0c/18.6c
July: 28.5c/20.8c
August: 28.2c/20.6c

A better comparison would the same deviation occurring in the summer, as summer usually has less variation (or at least different) than winter. Anyhow, 12.2°F above average. Last few days could drag the averages down.

December has averaged a high of 49.1°F and a low of 33.0°F. New York City Central Park is a much more impressive 56.5°F/45.3°F, with a mean temperature warm enough for growing plants. Same exact anomaly as Amherst, though.

Four and a half degrees above average here - the highest above average anomaly ever recorded.

How does 45°F above normal sound? Yes, I know it's a daily deviation.

To think that Joe Bastardi kept saying the El Niño would be long gone by now.
