I agree; we will probably be in a strong La Nina by August.
Sorry but we can only hope so in the East. We have had enough of your warm epoch and what it did to us. I just want the PNW water to turn well below normal.

That's going to heavily depend on the PDO. Near shore SST in California right now are below normal but the entire West Coast's far off shore SST are still above normal (although the anomalies are significantly less than they were over the past 2 years). The PDO could flip to negative this fall but its not a guarantee while the La Nina is pretty much a sealed deal at this point.
Obviously fantasy time frame, but JB showing SSTs on the CFSv2 looking a lot like 84-85 for this upcoming winter
He must be bored cause his summer weather forecast isn't going to plan, so instead of explaining why we are not getting nothing but heat after Memorial Day as he said, he is distracting people now with his stupid winter forecasts.
Struck a nerve there Tom? Worried about the winter already?
I don't know, I've had 17 days above average in a row, including a lot more 80's than last year by this time. So far so good.
So now it is "above average". George you know very well he talked about real heat hitting the whole east right at the end of May and staying that way. He seems quite quiet about the fact that it is not happening.
No, the winter is way way out there, and if it is as bad as 1985, then at least people will see just how cold the Southeast "subtropical" climates can get.
^^
How about significantly above average, which is what it has been here?
Go back in his tweets and you will see that he talks about a 10 day pullback in June for the Northeast. Lets see if the heat comes back towards the end of the month.
Have to admit, what the CFSv2 is forecasting the SSTs to be this winter are almost identical to what they were in 84-85

In all the years in our record 1985 is the only 1 of its kind. Doubt we will see a repeat in our lifetime.
