This weekend is shaping up to be a nice and spring like. My youngest has his first soccer game on Saturday.

This is ORD's forecast. It could be 20F+ cooler by the lake though.

Here too. Nice weekend. Saturday looks to be the better day...for me. Looks like our lows are colder than yours.

I forgot to check the dewpoints but I bet dry which is great!

This is for inland CT north of coast. 3-5° cooler for the highs and warmer for the lows at the coast

The wedge? Never heard of that. Is it a southern thing? I heard of being wedged by systems but not "The Wedge"

Yes, this happens somewhat frequently during spring in Atlanta. Cold air from the cold ocean (Atlantic) dams against the Appalachians, creating chilly, rainy weather with winds out of the NE. This affects North GA, SC and NC and temps tend to be cooler the farther north or east you are in the metro area.

Yes, basically. But they call it a wedge there because it's literally a "wedge" of cold air surrounded by much warmer temps.

Guys, I need to know when it will be safe to put my strawberry plants in the ground. Will there be any more freezes/frosts after this week in the extended forecast?

Basically, it creates very dreary days, I have mentioned it before and called it the CAD wedge. days like that make the south very cool an a lot of the times places in the NE are warmer on days like this. Today it seems Raleigh wont be affected much, forecast is below average with a high of 67 but that is not really cool.
