Yes, I was looking at the Means. The minimums are colder which further proves the point that Ningbo is substantially cooler than Houston during the winter irregardless of the extreme record lows. Speaking of records, Houston has a record max of 33C in February

Houston's climate at downtown(Hobby), as well as the climate in the coastal suburb of League City provide less extreme climates (greater precipitation during summer, cooler summers, warmer winters and record lows, etc) than that of Bush Airport (shown by the OP):

i never said Houston didn't have higher averages. but averages aren't everything. both places have the same exact hardiness zone on the border of 9a/9b. and it is hard to ignore the record low of Ningbo, 11.7°F higher than Houston!

so once again I ask, is Ningbo colder than Houston? Plants wouldn't think so... for instance, chinese fan palms may survive better in Ningbo than they would in Houston. (long term generational that is) specifically because of the colder temperatures Houston experiences that Ningbo would never see.

Thread types aren't exclusive to one poster; different/unrelated posters can make similar types of threads. Just because similar types of threads were made by that poster and I doesn't mean that I am that poster. Take off the tin-foil hat.

Even if I was that poster (which I am not), the posts I have made on this thread simply involved the posting of data, and were in no way, shape, or form trolling.

Don't worry. There is already a change in the pattern coming after New Years. Your paradises of coastal SC/GA will be seeing their hard freezes eventually.

I lived near both of these cities in my life. I would give a slight edge to Houston for warmer winters....the summer in Ningbo is incredibly muggy and the ac in China isn't as good.
