I have a very odd forecast later this week. 100 F forecast on Friday, but only 85 F (with partly cloudy skies) forecast on Saturday with possible lows in the 60s Saturday night. Cambium, can you tell me what's going to be happening down here Saturday morning? Rare June cold front in the south?

When do you start to feel the difference? Jacksonville? Kind of curious.

Are you going to stop in Savannah this time?

I was in Chicago in July 2007 and NYC in July 2005 and the sun felt more like late August/early September here than a mid-summer sun. Certainly still strong, but noticeably less so. Evenings brighter though.

North of Tifton, GA or so. I definitely notice a difference by the time I'm in Perry/Macon. The sun in Valdosta doesn't feel any different lol.

In winter, I would say about Tallahassee/Jacksonville though.

Valdosta, (along with Waycross to a lesser extent) often gets some of the hottest overall temps in the Southeast during the summer. It is far enough from the ocean to not feel the moderating effects, yet close enough for the high humidity. A nasty combination. I've even heard of some Floridians complaining about Valdosta's summers.

Yeah, I see temps above 97 F more often in Valdosta than anywhere in FL during summer. It's nearly always brutally hot every time I pass through there in summer. I think I saw a 97 F, 77 F dew point there once last summer. Brutal. It's hardly different from anywhere in FL in summer, however definitely noticeable the difference in climate during winter though.

Oh please. Valdosta's average highs are the same as anywhere in Central Florida. Plus, their lows are around 3 F cooler.
