Aren't the winters there similar to Perpingan and Marseille? Or am I wrong?

Lol, what? Geneva has an average high of 40F in January. Its record low is -4F and it gets 13 inches of snow a year on average.

What kind of country do you think Switzerland is?

Geneva should be in France. Switzerland has some really odd shaped borders. It's like Trieste, Italy only worse.

-NYC gets two to three times more sun hours.
-NYC gets twice the snow.

The point is, Geneva winters are characterized by stability and cloudiness due to the oceanic influence, NYC is somewhat opposite.

And to me that makes all the difference. Stability. I wish we had a such a thing here in winter.

It looks like it might not get as hot as was being predicted. 91F here at 2 PM. Yesterday's high was 93F.

On Wednesday, NWS was forecasting 96F for yesterday and 98F for today.

Sounds like what happened here when we were supposed to have heat. Now everything looks below average. What a crapfest of a summer.

Our forecast was sure on the mark. I don't think even Florida has experienced this yet.

Similar conditions at my place.

Tomorrow is forecast to be about 15 degrees cooler.

I see one below average day for Raleigh (high of 81 F, low of 58 F) the rest of the days have highs of 86-92 F. In what way is that below average when your average high is like 87 F in June?

It was positively frigid today. 22/14.8°C (72/59°F). I didn't expect the thermometer to drop in the 50s against before September. Dew points are pretty low too, max was 14.2°C (58°F).

How do the storms compare? Btw, did you make it to the Jura mountains? I think you posted pics of the Salève, Zermatt and the Jungfraujoch. Did you take any other trips while there?

C'mon, the difference in winter temps between Geneva and Marseille/Perpignan is greater than that between NYC and Birmingham, AL. Looking up the stats isn't that difficult. Or are you confusing Geneva with Genoa?

A strong line of storms has developed in central GA/SC and is scooting south. Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings, and even one tornado warning are out.
