Past 1yr we saw some devastating floods (Texas and Louisiana & other spots) and we saw drought status disappearing for some areas (including California), and we saw above normal or normal precip amounts for some areas.

But now.............. La.......Nina.....time.

June 21 update.

I don't usually talk about drought for this area but with a La Nina coming, I think I should.

Northeast is now 61% abnormally dry compared to 47% last week. NYC metro including my area is now D1 status.

Sycamore trees are about to go extinct if this continues.

Raleigh is running above normal on precipitation thankfully. Just checked month to date and we are running a little above average on Temps for the month too. While places south and west are well above. All because of the placement of the central ridge. Although raleigh has been running more humid thankfully. Been a good June. But July looks not that good. Probably below average. Someone needs to move the God damn vortex out the way and allow for the southeast Ridge to take over.

D1 drought? Seems a little worse than that here, some trees are turning crispy.

The picture you had isn't coming up anymore. While I agree that everywhere I look, lawns are turning brown now, that picture you showed is pure neglect. No reason for it to be like that yet.

Just took this of my lawn in one area.. Tell those guys to start taking care of their lawn by Lime & fertilizing. I don't water mine....ever.

But another area of my front yard looks like this, you can tell it's starting.

1/4" downpours don't go deep. I learned slow watering is the best for plants and grass...we haven't gotten that in weeks now.

Here's what my front yard looks like. The grass was cut yesterday.

I've had 5.66 inches of rain over the past 30 days.

Been a good June.
Same.

Depending on temperatures next week, we could end up with a summer month that's both warmer and wetter than normal. Doesn't happen too often.

same, we are not too above average so next few days matter if we want to finish above here. We have had wet and warmer than normal summers more so than Lexington maybe? I don't think it is uncommon to get both here.

It seems like the airport usually records less rainfall than I get during the summer months. It has about 2 inches less than I got so far in June. But the airport got more rain than I got in January, March, April, and May.

We are currently 3F above average, so it should hold. Especially with 95/73 forecast on Sunday. Dewpoints running a bit lower than last June, though.

Nice! May was wet with 5.21" here. This month so far 1.21" which is nothing.
