Last summer was fine with me. It was hotter than normal, but the heat felt drier than normal. Athens, GA reached 100°F three times last summer, on June 22, August 4 and August 5, but it was more comfortable than any 90°F day during the stormy summer of 2013. I do agree with you, however, that December was hideous. Here's a graph of high and low temperatures in Athens last December:
Those are high temperatures of 77°F on December 25 and December 26, both of which were records, and those are low temperatures that were warmer than the average high temperature for eight consecutive days, from December 23 through December 30. There were as many days with the low temperature above the normal high temperature as there were days with the low temperature at or below the normal low temperature.
I know that probably looks like paradise to some people in the Northeast and Midwest, but trust me when I say that it ruins Christmas when you actually experience it. Nobody was in the Christmas spirit last year, and even warm weather fans were complaining about how warm it was. It was a total buzzkill during a time of the year when it's supposed to at least be chilly by sunset. I hope I never experience another Christmas like that again. For that matter, Mother Nature can cut it out with all the ****ing tornadoes at Christmastime too. That's twice in four Christmases.
PLEASE STOP.
At least January and February were seasonably cold, thankfully.
