Yeah, same thing happened on the 17th:

Interestingly, June 1998 was the month I moved here from Venezuela, and I do remember it being hellishly hot that month.

Another day in the 90s. Weather.com, wunderground, and even the NWS have been forecasting upper 80s as of late to accommodate the large increase in rain chances. Problem is that it's often already 90 F out hours before the storm clouds even hit.

Did your family see the corruption going on in the government and decide to just leave? Seems they left like 3-4 years before Chavez took control.

My family could see through Chavez's facade. They never liked him from the beginning and knew he was trouble, so they packed up things and moved here.

Of course, I was only six at the time so I don't remember it very well.

After a scorching start to July (12 days in a row above average) we've since had a welcome return to average/slightly below average temps with 13 of the last 21 days being cooler than normal. Unfortunately, looking at the forecast, it seems we may be headed for another hot streak The last 2 summers have been way too hot and dry, even by Miami standards.

I can imagine, Caracas doesn't have a summer like Florida.

After tomorrow all we'll need is 5 more 90 degree days to reach our long term annual norm. May get that by next week
