I did not realize it was hot in California this summer. Interesting that San Francisco was so cold.

Every state on the Atlantic coast south of you (excluding Delaware) also had a top 3 hottest and every east coast state from Massachusetts southward was in the top 5. I imagine it was the warm lows that did it, too.

It makes since, as Phoenix was over 1° above normal this July, the CA deserts usually trend the same

It's been in the 90's everyday this September so far, with lows in the 70's all but one day.

The average high/low for today's date is 90/68F.

How the **** was it the "3rd hottest summer ever" in Florida? Miami was only 0.3F above average lol. That's the 10th warmest summer since 1980 at MIA

Another warm late summer day, high was 104°, 4 above the normal high of 100° and the low was 82°, 2 above the normal 80°. Today was our last normal 80+ low, tomorrows norms are 100/79, and by Friday, our norms will be 99/78, so summer is wearing down little by little
