The only time there's thunder and lightning here is 2-3 times in the summer.

10-4 azsundevil. I have a born Texan and I was in different parts of Texas and Oklahoma for about 20 years. I loved it there. All around them parts. But when the storms came, it always got a little hairy. I was there in the flood of 1990. I really thought I was gonna die in that parking lot that night.
Ok, well we made it through this snowstorm. We only ended up with 6 inches of snow. THe morning news man was surprised at the world news's forecast. Somebody got carried away with the weather forecasts that night.
I am so sorry for the people who lost their lives. God rest their souls. My family and friends down there are ok. A little shook up but ok.
WEll you have a great day> LIVE LAUGH AND LOVE

Hmmm... Thundersnow. I like that term (never heard it called that before). The first time I saw this phenomenon, I was expecting to see one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. "Thundersnow". Good word!

the mayans were a tribe in the Yucatan Penninsula of Mexico back in the 1400s, they had a calendar that expanded about 4,000 years, and the final year on their calendar was 2012.

We get thundersnow quite often here in lower NW Michigan. I had no idea it was possible until I moved here 4 years ago. But, then again, I have lived most of my life south of the Mason Dixon line where you CAN get thunder...rain or shine.

Yes. And they say when it does that its a heavier snow that comes with it. Just like thunderstorms, the higher the clouds the worse the storm is.
