Lol no way, I don't see why anybody would want to walk around barefoot.. I can understand if you're out on grass or at home, but in the shops/on tarmac? That's just stupid and weird, you're also likely to cut your feet
Seems quite normal here. I always like to have something on my feet when I go to town, but there isn't really anything to cut your feet on. Hot pavement would be more of a problem, or cold in winter. People that do it a lot,, seem to have pretty tough feet though.

I can do it during the night, but no way in the day, the street is so hot that it literally burn my feet.

Only the height of summer would be a problem here. Winter cold would be more of an issue, but it doesn't stop people, particularly kids, from going barefoot all year.

Here it is an issue any time of year, from 9am to 4pm at least, it is very unconfortable to be outside with the tropical sun burning you.
Yeah but Trelleborg's palms are kept inside during the winter.
I don't get the point of planting something just to have it inside for half the year. If people would just stop planting things for the sake of planting it stupid things like this wouldn't happen.
Speaking of walking barefoot, there were 2 girls walking in barefoot on a blacktop carpark on a 40C day here. They appeared to be suffering, and rightly so.
