The Toba supervolcano erupted about 80,000 years ago, plunging the entire world into volcanic winter, and making the eruption of Mt. Tambora look like peanuts. Imagine if such an event occurred again. One estimate is that the world cooled by 15 degrees C. I extrapolated this to Baghdad, assuming that it also cooled at the same rate. I did not change the precipitation amount or pattern, although it is likely that it was far wetter after the eruption. Rate Baghdad's climate after a Toba-like eruption cools the world.
