Storm #3 update... or is it #2?

Surprise Snow? Friday morning only areas along the coast will see it.

Basically the front coming through tomorrow will stall off the coast while cold air comes in. So anyone near to the West side of the front could see snow! Basically a rain to snow in some cases.

Quick coating to 2" is possible. Here is the NAM12z for early Friday morning. Snow even to North Carolina.

So don't be "surprised" I'm telling you now. lol

Hmm. It's actually snow up north, thought it would be rain. It's been on the dry side here, so some rain is good.

Surprise!

308 PM EST WED FEB 3 2016

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM

TO PLYMOUTH INCLUDING CAPE COD AND MARTHAS VINEYARD.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 6 INCHES WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS NEAR THE CAPE COD CANAL.

* TIMING...RAIN DEVELOPING THURSDAY NIGHT...CHANGING TO SNOW AFTER
MIDNIGHT AND BY DAYBREAK OVER CAPE COD. A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW
IS EXPECTED LATE THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING WITH SNOWFALL
RATES UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED WITH HAZARDOUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. THE FRIDAY MORNING
COMMUTE WILL BE AFFECTED. IN ADDITION...THIS WILL BE A WET SNOW
AND THE ACCUMULATION ON TREES AND POWER LINES COULD RESULT IN
ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.

AMOUNTS ON THE WESTERN FRINGE OF THE STORM. AS A RESULT...IF THE

Ok.. Feb 2-3, 2016 Storm done.

Here is the snowfall from it. Poor Chicago and Detroit just needed a little shift south and didn't get it. Ugh. Nebraska was the bullseye zone.

U.S Snow depth

Moving on ......... Next Storm....... Tonight and Tomorrow morning. Basically the cold front will stall off the East coast and a Low pressure will develops and ride that front.

Models all have shifted west which means the moisture has too which means more snow now. That's all it takes folks, a 25 mile shift sometimes.

And because its close to the front, it's going to be heavy wet type snow.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
627 AM EST THU FEB 4 2016

THE COLD FRONT BECOMES NEARLY STATIONARY TONIGHT JUST OFFSHORE WITH
ANOTHER AND DEEPER WAVE MOVING ALONG THE FRONT
. DEPENDING ON HOW
FAR EAST THE FRONT SETS UP WILL DETERMINE THE TRACK OF THE LOW ALONG
THE BOUNDARY. ALSO THE TIMING OF PRECIPITATION TYPE CHANGEOVER WILL
DEPEND ON HOW QUICKLY THE COLDER AIR FILTERS IN AND HOW HEAVY THE
PRECIPITATION IS...ESPECIALLY LATER TONIGHT. WILL LIKELY BE A WET
ACCUMULATING SNOW LATE TONIGHT...MAINLY EAST OF NYC...ACROSS LONG
ISLAND AND INTO SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT. THE UPPER TROUGH IS
STILL WELL TO THE WEST TONIGHT AND FRIDAY AND THE TREND HAS BEEN
FOR A FARTHER WEST TRACK WHICH WOULD BRING HIGHER AMOUNTS OF
SNOW...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE TWIN FORKS OF LONG ISLAND AND NEW
LONDON CONNECTICUT. WITH THE COLD AIR SLOWER TO MOVE IN HAVE LESS
THAN AN INCH OF SNOW WEST AND NEAR 3 INCHES FAR EASTERN
AREAS...EXTREME EASTERN NEW LONDON...AND MONTAUK POINT.

ANY FARTHER SHIFT TO THE WEST COULD RESULT IN FAR EASTERN REGIONS
APPROACHING 6 INCHES OF SNOW LATE TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY
.

Feb 7-10, 2016 Storm Update.

New trends now bringing the fish storm closer for Sunday-Monday and do not develop a storm on Tuesday-Wednesday. Energy comes to West coast soon so we'll know better by tomorrow afternoon.

Its possible we get a snowstorm Monday and snow showers Tuesday & Wednesday too then clear out Thursday.

New Bernie video. Havent seen it yet. Will check later
