Very nice and very green. You sure you would give up that green winter to have a hot summer? Why would you ever want to live in a continental climate like around here? We aren't that green in winter.
I'd keep my winter if I could have your summer. Winter isn't particularly cold here, but I'd like to have guaranteed snow each winter, even if it only lasts a few days. I've been back in York two years, and we've had about 1" of snow in total in that time.
Philadelphia has fantastic summer weather IMO. In fact, it's just about perfect. You'd hate summer here!

But I hate winter more here. I strongly dislike the drastic change in temp from winter to summer, and the drastic change in the look of the landscape. We look very lush in summer, and not nearly as green as England in winter.
Maybe my tastes are changing. I'm getting more interested in winter green. I get depressed in winter looking at dead and brownish landscapes. Just so blah and brown. Ugh.

Is Philadelphia that lush during summer, or is it just green?
I take lush as meaning the highest level of greenness.
Damn. Do you realise now why I hate this time of the year?

Yeah, quite a difference there! Hopefully it'll start warming up for you soon. It hasn't exactly warmed up here. It's just normal early March weather and colours.

I must admit, I do find winter pretty depressing. It's more the short, gloomy days than the colour of the landscapes though. Winter here is always green, and this time of year we get all the spring colours too, which does improve my mood, as I know we're waving goodbye to winter now!
I suppose it's easy for me to say what I like about your climate when I don't live there, and don't experience, or have never experienced such drastic changes in temperature that you get. I'd love your summer as you know, but the wait for the warmer weather, particularly in a place like Chicago for instance, would be extremely frustrating.
It doesn't seem so bad in Philadelphia and Washington DC though. It looks like you warm up quickly going into April, so your climate would still appeal to me, particularly over Chicago. Your winter doesn't look too cold, and importantly, gets abundant sunshine.
I would take philly over anywhere in the UK. How can you live somewhere without true summer weather?
I agree with you there. A mild winter is OK, but it's not as if we can sit outside and enjoy it. It's just warm enough not to be icy and snowy!
I always look forward to summer, but when it comes around I realise how crap it is! I've been lucky enough to have most of my summers as an adult in much warmer climates though.

Why are London, Moscow and Paris #1, 2 and 4 of the most populated cities in Europe then?
