I need a warm summer, and May and September (November and March in SH climates) at least mild. Winters in subarctic climates are often brutal and/or too long. Subarctic are those types of climates that typically could benefit from some extra degrees year round, and in many cases are too dry. For instance, Yellowknife, Canada would be an awesome climate with precipitation quadrupled and temps bumped up by 20 F / 11 C year round.
Ah, I see. It's just that I thought you liked "brutally" cold winters and such.
My average rating(s) for each of the climatic zones:
Humid continental (wet/normal winter) - A to C Humid subtropical - A to D Oceanic - A to D Humid continental (dry winter) - B to D Mediterranean - C Subtropical highland - C and D Semi-arid - C to E Subarctic - C to F Mild desert climate - D Subpolar oceanic - D and E Tropical savannah - D and E Tropical monsoon -D to F Arid - D to F Tropical rainforest - E and F Polar/Alpine - F
