It's a solid B from me. The temperatures are awesome but I don't like the precipitation pattern.

This place has one of the biggest seasonal ranges I've seen in the lower 48. Average highs of 90F in July and average lows of 0F in January? Don't know of any other place outside Xinjiang that can boast that. Pretty awesome. Solid B+ from me.

Too dry, but good annual range of temperatures. Remarkable diurnal range as well. I'd give it a B-. Sunshine hours would be very high, well over 3000 hours annually.

I haven't been to Wyoming but I say it's pretty good. I'd say B.

True.

About normal I'd say.

Plenty of places in North America with about 30F diurnal range.

Many places in New Mexico has even greater, such as....

Lordsburg January average high 59 low 24
Hatch January average high 60 low 24
Reserve January average high 55 low 19

Gavilan ...elevation 2300m /7400 ft January average high 40F low -1F
Gavilan has record coldest temp for NM at -51F

Then there's there even more extreme Bodie, Cailfornia...

But all of them are much warmer except Gavilan. Wow, that is an impressive diurnal range in such a cold climate.
