i was looking, and something come in mind, why this relative cold for a place at 23S?
Ok it is located at 600m and in the middle of desert.
Then i look at Saara at same latitude, but only found a place at 1000m(Djanet),and
surprising it was warmer than Alice,so,someone here can explain that?
Maybe Djanet is surrounded by taller mountains or hills that "cover" it from cold air from the north? The Alice Springs area is the highest place in that region. Its surrounds are mostly lower elevated. So it's easier for the southerlies to reach it.
Despite Alice Springs being cold for its latitude due to being in a desert, elevation and inland location, I think it's a very good climate. It certainly beats the pants off of anything in Canada IMO

Can't argue with that.
First time I saw climate data for Alice Springs I was amazed too.
It's about 10 degrees closer to the equator than southern Arizona and not any warmer,
if anything it's actually cooler!!
And it's elevation is not very high compared to most places US Southwest,
even Tucson is higher.
Australia in general is cool for its latitude, although this is more prominent in summer than in winter. I have said this many times on this forum, and have been flamed by clueless people who have been raised all their lives to believe that Aussieland is a hot place. The record summer lows in Australian cities are extremely low for their low elevation and low latitude.
I double dare anyone who continues to believe in the great Hot Australia myth to find any location in Australia, compare it to an equivalent location in India at a similar latitude and elevation, and come back and tell me which one is hotter.

It still sees higher temperatures than your home country of India.
Are you referring to annual averages, average highs, record highs....?
Record high, but I guess that's it. India has a better climate than australia.
