I definitely wouldn't say it's "too late to turn back," since it remains to be seen exactly how the government will go about implementing the major changes narrowly called for in a non-binding referendum. To a certain extent, I am still skeptical; the powers that be may be able to find their way around this.
Of course, there will be temporary hiccups in the market and such. But it will be great to see the UK go through with this.

It sounds like the UK is trying to have it both ways...the benefits of the EU without actually being in it. It will certainly be a long, complicated, expensive process. Not to sound like a Monday morning quarterback, but maybe the "leave" voters who suddenly have regret should have put more thought into the potential consequences before casting their vote.
I don't think it will be great for the UK to go through a damaging economic recession and political upheaval.
The thing is half of those that voted wanted to remain in the EU, such a small margin should not be allowed to win IMO. Also within hours Nigel Farage (vile xenophobic racist leader of UKIP & main voice of the leave campaign) said that his claim ,& one of the leave campaigns main "selling points", that the £350 million given to the EU (which was an incorrect figure anyway) would be given instead to the NHS, was a "mistake" ie a blatant LIE! Many people who voted leave are now regretting their decision as they voted based on the lies they were fed...
At the end of the day the government can ignore the referendum, but they wont as it will surely cause the great unwashed to riot in the streets...
Was watching BBC yesterday and they interviewed a few working class people who said that was the first time they ever voted and said they would never vote again in any election.
It is the working class who keep a country running, not the elitists.

Nigel Farage's status as a "vile xenophobic racist" is funny, IMO, when he has stated that he prefers Indian immigrants over Polish ones.

For something as monumental as voting to leave or stay in the EU, I'm surprised a higher threshold wasn't required. Again, easy to say all this after the fact. There are so many potential economic and political consequences for the UK and the rest of Europe.
