I wish voting was based on intelligence - if it was, the UK almost certainly would have voted to remain in the EU. Curse the uneducated residents of England's crap towns.

Didn't Leeds have pretty much 50-50 in the voting? Still voted 'In' though so fair enough.

I thought York might've voted out, but was pleasantly surprised at 59-41.

It was 50.3% Remain, 49.7% Leave. I think if you removed places like Morley and Kippax, the Remain vote would have been higher. Depends on if you consider them part of Leeds or not. Until the 1970s places like Morley were never included in Leeds.

Apparently, Leeds North West was 64% Remain, Leeds North East was 61% Remain, Leeds Central was 51% Remain. Leeds West voted 56% Leave and Leeds East voted 63% Leave. These are just estimates though. I actually made a request to Leeds City Council for ward-by-ward breakdowns.

-tear up the signed contracts to a much needed road project, costing taxpayers $1.1 billion, after stating that "it is not worth the paper it's written on", all to buy the votes of a few inner city greenies and because his militant union was locked out of the contract

-spend millions on a gay pride centre

-union takeover of major projects with ridiculous wage and conditions clauses, things like "picnic days" for workers, adding hundreds of millions to costs

-militant union takeover of the state's volunteer firefighting brigade with paid unionised firefighters ousting volunteers, with the union dictating who is allowed to fight certain fires etc, who can ride together in the same truck, volunteers locked out of their own email servers etc. Fired 2 of his own staff due to their defiance against this plan

-apologise to homosexuals because homosexuality was illegal in until the 80's. We have ****ing nothing to do with that and it was the law then.

-no longer a crime for juvenile criminals if they breach bail conditions

-increase of crime by 12%

This is the ****ing wankers that govern here. And there are still morons, brainless DERPOID asscandles that actually vote for them. It's mental. ****ing mental

It's true lads I'm literally dying here

(if you can't detect the sarcasm then yeah too bad)

Anyone that opens their mouth is shut down by the politically correct left.

I'm not trying to shut you down. You're more than welcome to make yourself look like an idiot.

Well, that is certainly your interpretation of the truth. Like I said, knock yourself out. If you think the Victorian government is communist, more power to you. If you think other people are 'brainwashed' because they don't agree with your opinions, fine. Whatever makes you feel happy. Instead of expecting other people to change for your benefit, you should consider moving to another Australian state.

There's a difference between being an idiot, and acting like an idiot, by the way. I don't think you're an idiot, but you're acting like one.

I'd certainly expect the centre of Leeds, and the wealthier areas to be firmly 'In'. I'm surprised central was only 51%. I guess the suburbs house the wealthier people, so the higher percentage in is expected there. I'm certainly pleased they voted 'In' overall.

I saw a news report in Barnsley on YouTube, where the locals were being interviewed. It was so unbelievably cringeworthy, and made me a little bit embarrassed to be a Yorkshireman. The lack of education and understanding, certainly shows the whole referendum to be a bit of a farce.

You must have yourself down as some sort of Agent Mulder 2.0 - exposing the truth because it is so oblivious to the rest of us. Keep up the good work.

Your problem - you form an opinion first, and then seek out information to justify it. Most logical people seek out information and then form their opinions accordingly. You approach these kinds of issues from an inherently biased viewpoint - and it clouds your judgement, and yes, it makes you look like an idiot. You sound hysterical. You live in Victoria, not North Korea. If the current government of Victoria is voted out, then that's the democratic process in action - not exactly a union-supported dictatorship by any means.

Now, I don't live in Victoria so I couldn't possibly comment on what life there is like - but the UK has a right-wing government, and since the current right-wing government was elected into power, homelessness has soared, food banks have opened in nearly every community, the number of people suffering from malnutrition has soared, there have been reported cases of homeless people starving to death and people so desperate for food they're rummaging through bins. Parents are skipping meals to feed their own children and crime rose in 2015 for the first time in over 20 years after falling significantly during left-wing Labour's time in power. Now the UK itself may cease to exist in 5 years time as Scotland gears up for another independence referendum and Northern Irish Peace is threatened by the introduction of border controls - and all because of one Prime Minister who made one stupid mistake.

Yeah, not exactly a great endorsement for right-wing politics. Maybe the situation in Victoria isn't very good - but that would be down to that particular government and not the ideology they follow. You can find examples of good and bad governance that adhere to both left and right wing ideologies.

Yeah, Leeds Central contains the city centre and Hyde Park and those areas will have definitely voted Remain strongly, but also some really poor areas like Beeston and these areas will have voted Leave for sure. I'd hazard a guess that somewhere like Headingley or Chapel Allerton will have had the highest Remain vote.

And I agree. Very embarrassing. There really are some very stupid people living in this country.

I had an idea about going down the Shore tomorrow; the forecast had been for good weather. But now it looks like there's a chance of rain, so maybe not.
