I think it's illegal to cycle on sidewalks here - but even so, it's not really considerate to pedestrians.
Here is a cycle lane here.. you can see how narrow it is and how close general traffic encroaches to it. Buses in particular are quite large so frequently run up against the lane.
It's illegal in some areas here. Not allowed in the center of town. State law is "outside of business districts" but local cities can ban it if they want.

Wow Did you have training thunderstorms or something?
It was pretty much strong thunderstorm, followed by moderate/heavy rain, followed by another strong thunderstorms, rinse and repeat all afternoon yesterday. Everything was deluged and it was still flooded even today afternoon! Drainage here sucks ass though, so even an inch of rain would leave things somewhat flooded....so imagine 4.5+ inches!

Yeah Florida is quite flood-prone. Good soil for taking water but that doesn't help on the streets.

Us being ridiculously low in elevation doesn't help, and the certain position of my section of the neighborhood is somewhat lower lying than surrounding areas....
