It sure was at the one I went to in Jacksonville on a July evening. I also saw the Jaguars training camp that same morning, it was 10am and I was dripping. I don't envy them wearing football pads in those conditions.
I find it harder to be passionate about pro sports than college. Then again, there are no professional teams in my state. (Cincinnati is kind of the default)
Yeah, I don't envy the football players in Tampa or Jacksonville during the pre-season training. Not very pleasant to do all that with pads.
Do people in Kentucky root for Cincinnati teams, or mostly central Kentucky and up? I imagine people in southern Kentucky would root for the Titans?
Though I think for baseball, the Cincinnati Reds fandom extends even down into northern Tennessee, and there it switches over to Braves fans.
Holy Christ, I can buy a handle of cheap liquor for that price lol.
And lmao, it probably would! $75.00 can actually get you really good seats here lol. The cheapest seats are like 10-12 dollars.
That was a great perk of being a UK student. Even though our football team is usually ****, I got to see them play teams like Florida and Alabama for $5 per game. Wish I had gone more often.
I think the day game in 04 was in the spring and I don't remember that. And the one in the summer of 05 was at night. So, no, not really. Summer 2005 doesn't stand out much for weather in my mind. Nor 04.
When I was a teenager into sports, I used to think Philadelphia's notorious sports mentality was great. Now I just find their reputation embarrassing, tbh.
I was in Philly during July 18-20. Looking back at the weather, they were experiencing typical Miami summer weather. Three straight 90/75 days lol. Felt brutal.
I find the sports mentality here embarrassing too, but for the opposite reason. People here are very indifferent towards all the teams, except the Dolphins.

I'm not sure, but that would make sense. And maybe Colts further west.
As for NBA, there's really no point in picking a team based on geography. The closest team is 150 miles away in Indianapolis. Which is a shame because basketball is so popular in Kentucky.

I imagine people in Louisville root for the Colts while in Bowling Green for the Titans?
Everything is astronomically expensive in NYC. I went to a grocery store and had sticker shock...like $10.00 for a small can of peanuts.
I know, even I'm put off by it sometimes and I'm from there. When I worked in Manhattan 90% of the time I ate out of 7/11 on my lunch break, everything else was way overpriced.
Right. Do you think the Pacers are a home team to us? Or is that too much of a stretch?
Hmmmmmm, not sure. Hard to tell. It's easily the closest team to Lexington. Definitely more so than the Cavaliers or the Pistons lol.
For Covington, KY and Northern KY in general I would definitely say the Pacers are the home team.
