Boston

Very similar to where I am with milder winter temps.

Good 4 season climate.

Difficult choice. Hobart looks very comfortable, but I like Boston's more variable weather. Boston's summers are warmer than ideal, but the winters are decent and the precipitation is better. Nor'easters can be exciting.

I'll give a slight edge to Hobart. While Boston's summers are tame compared to much of the US, I can't pass up 70 degree summers.

Hobart has summers comparable to where I live which is more than good enough for me. Hobart can also grow a huge range of subtropical plants that Boston can only dream of.

Hobart is an easy winner.

Boston would be too depressing, although pretty in Autumn.

Both are very meh, but I think I'd give Boston the edge for the sunshine and summer weather, although it isn't as warm as I'd like. I'd rather be depressed in winter (Boston) than summer (Hobart).

Never been to Hobart, but it sounds like it has extremely depressing weather. About 20% less sunshine than Boston? I'll take Boston and put up with the cold winters.

Boston's sunshine hours are probably inflated. They are probably more in line with Hobart, maybe a little ahead but not by as much as the figures would suggest.

Boston sunshine is probably around 2400 hours in reality and it is VERY windy in the winter.

Maybe these two factors change the minds of some people.

snow in the winter is way better than rain, so Boston wins.

Keep in mind that US sunshine hours are inflated. I would say take at least 200 hours off of Boston. Then, the difference in sunshine hours is not much at all.
