That would be a common look for our summer skies too. It was like that today.
But would wind off the Atlantic give you 81F with 74F dew point? Our local surf temperature at Atlantic today is 72F currently. Would West winds off the Atlantic bring you overcast and cool?

Westerly winds here would bring below average temperatures, with heavy showers and sunny spells.
Most of our winds in summer come from the SW, SSW or S.

Well the Heathrow wind rosette shows predominant wind direction as pretty much SW or SSW in every month. What was your high temp today and wind direction? I find it hard to believe you get plus 80F temps with SW winds off the Atlantic. I mean your avg high in summer is no where near 80F.
Where did I say any of that? All I said was that the skies in your photo looked like summer skies here.
High today was 31.7c at Heathrow, with winds mostly from the SSW.
This is the wind rose for Heathrow.
The vast majority of the time you have SW winds you don't have a high of 31C. That is way above avg for London in June. My point is winds off the Atlantic (SW) give you much cooler weather than today while in summer here we get steamy weather with winds off the Atlantic due to the much warmer ocean water we have vs the UK. Hence those clouds today with quite a few cumunolimbus.
I find it rather odd you would have our clouds all summer long with such low dew points and temperatures. You don't get enough thunderstorms to have cumulonimbus all summer. We have much higher dew points than you all summer. With your dew points we don't get towering cumulonimbus. Unless something else is at play in your climate. Your summer weather is like May here and most days in May do not have clouds like today. Skies like today start in June just about every year.
Our max temp today was 91F with 71F dewpoint at the same time. What was your dewpoint when you hit 31C? If you get clouds like us something else is at play. Certainly not high temps and dewpoint.
What was your weather like on Friday? My friend lives in London and posts incessantly on FB. He posted this pic Friday. These would be very unusual clouds here in summer. More like winter or spring clouds here.
And this was his pic from Tuesday:
And this was his post from June 10th:
I follow him every day since he moved back to the U.K. a couple years ago, and TBH it is more a not typical summer day to have our type of clouds over there.
But I will be sure to update with photos all summer of his sky pics.
