If you are waiting temps of -15/-20C on Buenos Aires or in Sidney, sorry but dont will happen,it isnt possible ,the Geography dont let it happens here in SH,we dont are linked with Antartic circle like North America or East Asia, but im satisfied with this winter,at least here in South America, the early june cold wave brings some good cold temperatures for Southern Brazil, one city broken the all time record low registering -9C,and they had 3 snow events until now.

Might be a bit late in the season for such a run of temperatures, but never say never. It will definitely be the main event for this (mild) winter though
I was living in Queenstown in the 1990s, and remember one cold spell and quite a few Arrowtown residents with consistent reports of a cold night/morning temperaturey around -21C, but it was never noted in any official records. I can also remember mid day temperatures well below freezing in Arrowtowm - maybe -10/-11C, and an even colder midday temperature at an old townsite about 30km up the river from there.
Arrowtown would be a good site for a proper weather station.
3C and heavy rain here at present (7.42 am) -it's going to be a wet, muddy day for me.
According to Accuweather there's about a 10% chance of snow in Nelson.

Snowing twice within 5 years would be a first, but ya never know. A friend had snow at his house on Monday, which is at exactly 348 metres asl -about half an inch, that didn't last long.
Nothing much happening for snow at present, other than snow in the usual inland areas.
Not cold yet, with nowhere in the country at freezing at this time (6:22 am), and the warmest parts of the country have 14C dew points.
I'm going to be working at about 400 metres today, so will have my camera ready, when the cold change (hopefully) comes through.
