Your guys are a bit wrong about that, many places here in Northeast get hot spring averages,no on the coast where I live, but on the far interior,an mountainous range block the moisture from the ocean to get too deep on the contient, that cause thoses places to be hotter than others in same latitude with 35C as average high on the warmest season.
But on other hand, our subtropical climates are cooler in summer than others around the world, the subtropical ocean water on the Southeast South America are very cool, thats one of the reason to dont happens thoses crazy hurricanes like in Northern Hemisphere.
Central and Southern Chile had a cold morning, even the coastal cities had below freezing low this morning:
What's the coldest Puerto Montt has seen this winter? It's at the same attitude and latitude as here, but about two degrees warmer for minimums than here..

-4.4C for the coldest here this winter, which is around the average minimum.
Their winter are cloudy and rainy, because that they dont get more cold,if you see on the Patagonian coast, for example,Viedma, they get -7/-8C almost every winter.

Interesting. I think this climate would feel more similar to my one than Puerto Montt is, despite the much warmer summers. Still slightly colder winter minimums here though, despite the much higher rainfall here.
Viedma is still 30 km inland though, which is quite quite a way by my standard. Locations around here that altitude, and distance from the sea could expect similar annual minimums.
Viedma is like a warmer version of Alexandra.
