Summary: A beautiful cool summer day! Cloud built over late afternoon before a brief evening shower which only made it onto the forecast at like 10.30pm!! (was originally forecast to be clear)
The weather seems" off". Its almost the middle of June and the summer crops look to be at least two and even three weeks behind schedule due to cool weather. We've been on a roller coast ride between unseasonably hot weather at the end of May, unseasonably cool weather before that, a few days of normal weather and then right back to almost cold weather. You can't tell what Month it is on any given day just by walking outside. One day it feels like September, then the next day it feels like July. But then you look at the vegetation and you think its still early May. I'm looking at corn crops that look downright stunted compared to last year. Its just odd.
Yesterday was cooler than normal; it reminded me more of April than June. It rained out from 08:20 to almost noon, which made it hard for me to go for a walk in the morning. We saw a good deal of accumulation, but it wasn't anything special.
We managed to stay below 60°F (16°C) until noon, but it did somehow manage to come reasonably close to average.
Yesterday ended up mostly sunny and slightly humid, with dew points peaking at around 60°F (16°C). The temperatures matched the averages, and it was overall a pretty nice day. A light shower came through before dawn, but it didn't add up to much.
High: 77°F (25°C) Exactly normal
Low: 57°F (14°C) Exactly normal
Rainfall: 0.2" (0.5 mm)
Snowfall: 0" (0 cm)
Our monthly rainfall total to date is 1.20" (30.5 mm).
Yesterday was a humid day, with dew points peaking at 69°F (21°C). Temperatures were slightly above normal and because of a severe thunderstorm before dawn and heavy rain in the evening, we saw the wettest day of the year to date.
Our monthly rainfall total to date is 2.82" (71.6 mm), aided significantly by yesterday's storms.
