I thought you simply chose the two because they result in the most heated debates...
Yes, but because they are so distinct (U.K for having such mild winters for their latitude and having a very stable climate while the U.S. South gets crazy anomalous cold snaps for their latitude in winter and being prone to torndoes in spring and summer and hurricanes in summer and fall).

The U.K. is geographically smaller, but it's about as expansive as the U.S. South, so I'd say the comparison is fair, although it's one that's been done to death.
The US south by a mile because every climate in the UK is awful especially Glasgow which doesn't have much of a summer while Miami is much warmer and receives more sun even though Miami receives more rain. If there is rain it better come in the form of thunder storms not the typical weak showers in Glasgow.
The US South is superior in about every aspect apart from winter temps (overall) imo. Then again a place like Lexington or Louisville would be preferable to even Aviemore in winter. Summer isn't even up to debate. The US South it is, no brainer for me.

London hasn't been a particularly foggy place since the 50s though.

Still superior to UK in Winter temps. London struggled to get a 68 degree day till may. On average our first is in janaury. Not too mention warmer highs almost everywhere in the US south. Winter is superior, summer is superior, and the shoulder seasons superior. Tbh don't know what the op expected out of this thread.

Obviously another thread set up so people can bash the UK again, as if there aren't enough of those already.
