Sometimes my location seems to be a thunderstorm hole, but there are some times we get hit more compared to other areas nearby.

Over the past month, it seems like the core of thunderstorms have been just to the southwest or south. The airport has been missing out often. Yesterday there were strong storms to the east and west of my location but I hardly got anything, and they also missed the airport.

Do you only find CG lightning interesting? Cloud to cloud looks cooler IMO.

Looks like I got missed again today. There was lightning close by, but the storm stayed to the east.

I guess there's still a chance this evening, but I'm not counting on it.

CG is more beautiful and exciting to me. Maybe because it's the rare type here (and vice versa for you). It also produces more explosive thunder. Of course, the benefit of cloud to cloud is safety.

Me, too! Or when they hit while I'm at work, in my interior office with no windows. Love storms! Love a rainy day at home.

I am happy. Storms today, at first, skipped my area in the afternoon, and I thought I wasn't going to get anything. Suddenly, this evening delivered, and the sky is falling as I am typing this. Very cool winds outside to cool down temps. Summer thunderstorms are awesome; one just has to be lucky.
