I can vouch for the speed cameras... Melbourne was COVERED in them.. every few hundred metres on the highway/freeway with speed limits of 50MPH on brand new wide 3-5 laned roads! Absolutely ridiculous

Speed cameras have gotten a lot of bad rep in Finland, because some lawyers say that it's a form of being guilty before proven guilty. Opponents say that only one in ten has actually an camera (which is true). The police says that speeding has decreased because of the cameras, even with posts without cameras. And the cameras shouldn't record any speeding above 7/kmh the limit.

Tricky issue.

I find it so stupid how society acts like the biggest threat on the roads is "speeding", yet the guy who drives the speed limit who's on his cell phone, eating, or doing some other dumb **** is a "safe driver" simply for driving the speed limit, stupid.

My brother has this mentality. The guy does all this **** while driving but swears he's a safe driver because he's going the speed limit.

In Sweden I've heard that's only 3 km/h. We're worse at everything

When do they start to suspend your licence? I think it's 25 km/h over the limit they can and after 30 km/h they have to take it away.

Jesus. Here in the states it's more of a thing of points (you get 2 or 3 points each time you get a ticket) rather than how much you're going over. It takes a ridiculous amount (say, going twice the speed limit) to get your license suspended over a mere speeding violation.
