Malaysia have recently introduced sharia as law from what I've heard and it's illegal to leave islam there. That's not cool.
I generally like Bosnians except they're way too tribal and stuff. Albanians are either atheists, super-moderate or crazy fanatics. No middle ground there.
Malaysia didn't introduce it yet, from what I know there is a lot of opposition to it. Most Bosnians seem pretty chill, if you mean tribal by "like to keep to themselves" that's true, but a lot of immigrant groups do that
I don't think we should bunch all type of Muslim peoples into one. The form of Islam they practice in Bosnia or Indonesia is completely different from the super religifanaticrazyrightwingexpialodocious Islam they practice in Saudi Arabia or the Isis territories. 99.9% of Muslims living in Bosnia or Albania or Malaysia or Indonesia or Bangladesh are totally chill
There was a discussion on here about Islam a while back, and I made a point of highlighting genuine opinion polls form around the Islamic world, they show that very extreme views are not uncommon at all, in fact they are majority opinions in many Islamic countries.
From what I've seen, I certainly wouldn't call Indonesia or Bangladesh "chill", they are actually on the more extreme side of the spectrum.
The vast majority of liberals aren't bedfellows of radical Islam though right-wing populists like to claim that. What most liberals are though, is that we are against racism and discrimination.
It's not just about Islam but it's true that liberals, progressives, leftists in many western countries these days will go to impressive lengths to tolerate various cultural and religious practices and beliefs in a way of proving they are not racist or xenophobic.
It's as if in order to be liberal you need to be accepting of the illberal.
And I say this as a leftist progressive BTW.
In Canada it is considered racist by many to question any religious or cultural practice - even the most objectionable ones.
Of course with the exception of Christian ones. For those it's OK. (I say this as a person who does not have a Christian identity personally.)
