The same thing happens to me. If I go to bed before 20:00, I can't fall asleep until often much later than normal. I've found that going to bed anywhere from 20:30 to 21:15 works best for me; I get up for work at 05:20 and would like to be awake for a little while before my alarm goes off.

10pm is moderate-late territory to me, and thats with true darkness (astronomical dusk-dawn) running from 7:40 pm - 5:08 am. In Depok it would be in the late territory given darkness from 07:32 pm - 04:34 am. (which means i have to get up at 4am). My sleep cycle (on holidays so i'm discounting night tasks) is 100-105 minutes so i sleep for around 6.5-7 hrs on average, around 9:30-4:30 here and half an hour earlier in Depok.

For comparison, miami is 07:13 pm - 05:48 am. So i could sleep till after 5 if i lived there this time of year
Americans go to bed early.

I had a two day bender this weekend in Dublin with some friends and I had the WORST hangover ever on the Sunday, felt like utter crap after drinking about 7 pints of guinness during the day followed by sharing a bottle of rum with my friend in the evening.
