Both the Muslim and Indian population is more concentrated in the UK than the US
We have an established Indian and Muslim population.
The groups most likely to contain people in an interethnic relationship were White and Black Caribbean (88%), followed by White and Asian (87%),Other Mixed (84%) and White and Black African (79%).
The next least likely were Bangladeshi (7%), Pakistani (9%) and Indian (12%). Cultural, racial and religious differences are likely to play a part in the low rate of people from South Asian backgrounds in inter-ethnic relationships.
You have negated to mention the ethnic groups that refuse to mix with the native/local population of Western countries. In the UK, I have noticed that Indian/Muslims in particular, are groups that appear to be cold/closed off around Westerners.
In my Mechanics class, there is a group of 4-5 Muslim woman who sit on the other side of the lecture theatre away from the rest of the cohort. I have tried to communicate with these woman and they are not interested at all. No one else makes much of an effort to speak to them, so I assume most English people are the same around Muslims or at least non-English Muslims (these Muslims seem to be from Malaysia).
Blacks/Asians in Britain mix with everyone, so there's usually no problems with communicating with them.
Tbh, don't really have a problem speaking to other races, just find that Muslims, especially foreign Muslims come across as aloof and stuck up.
Keep in mind that some of "foreigners" (me included) still too afraid to speak English because of "i'm not really fluent" or "broken grammar", even with a C2 or TOEFL in the 600s. Nothing to do with race/religion/ethnicity.
As for me, my toefl is 550, (610 if you discount listening skills, only reading and grammar), but still has some episodes of "miscommunications" in this forum.
My Dad was found dead this morning . Only 49, but he lived a life where it wasn't ever going to last. I feel awful. I just wish I could've seen him or helped, but it's easy to think that after something like this has happened.

I wonder if it's just here or all of America??? I have no clue.
Doesn't sound any different than here, although I was under the impression that blacks were more integrated down south.
