Swedish is also a Germanic language. It's a shame that the languages are so far apart in terms of pronounciation that they're intelligible. I do sense that Danish and Dutch speakers sound quite similar when speaking English though.

They definitely don't sound the same speaking English. Dutch people are quite renowned for their natural accent being very good. Danes however still sound like they have oatmeal in their throats even when speaking English.
