I think it really depends on the climate you are in... If you are in a cold winter climate - like Maine, I'd say the spring through Autumn months. However if you are living in Phoenix, AZ - then the winter months are the best. And, if you are south of the equator the summer months and winter months are reversed - so that adds a whole other set of problems to this equation. Anyway, I prefer the warmer months for sure!
I said March to Sept but really it's March to November. September and October are just wonderful here in Georgia. November usually isn't too bad but can be too cool.
Today I nearly melted on a bus in Turin at 2:30 PM, and so I was a little tempted by the September-March option. Anyway, I really dislike the cold half or the year and so I voted for March-September.
March to September... Though summers are a bit too hot & humid here for my liking, winters can be a bit bleh & if it's wet everything gets damp & we have no heating, so it often feels colder inside than it does outside...
More than a bus It was a tram, and it didn't give the impression to have an AC (but at least all the windows were open). That tram in particular was quite new, and so the AC was probably just broken, but a lot of other trams are really old and I suspect that they don't have any AC nor heating system for the winter (they still have wood seats too).
The buses are much more recent, and they usually have the AC instead.
yeah, it is hard to sleep these days, I actually stay home in the dark to keep it cool most afternoons, not very summer-like impression. It is 29c right now inside. If the car had no A/C it would be a nightmare really. Yesterday i opted for the bus (with A/C) instead of the bike to go to a job interview, otherwise I would have had to bring several liters of water. Summer actually limits my time spent outside when it gets that hot.
That said I don't particularly like fall here, and winter has not been very interesting since I moved here, so I will stick with the warmer part of the year option, including March, which can be very nice (what october does not succeed at).
