Dunno speaks like an elitist so to me he still is one
Besides, if the Tories are so damaged beyond repair how would dunno explain they:
1, got similar % to Blair in 1997 and more than 43 % of the eligible vote (Eng, Sco, Wal)
2, actually only dropped about 1/10 of voters since calling the election, whereas the LibDems and Greens bled just as big to Labour, more than the Tories lost in combined numbers during that timeframe. There are only so many LibDems and Greens left to pick off now and most LibDem voters only exist where they have a chance to win seats now.
3, won urban seats in Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall and Middlesbrough and held urban seats in Bolton, Blackpool and Carlisle.
4, made strong gains in... Bolsover. Yes, Bolsover!
I wonder who's engaged in wishful thinking here?
Besides I'm sure they won't need any votes in inner Leeds to win the election so they may not need to cater to your demands
Most of London is Labour thank god. Everybody hates the conservatives as they are deliberately making working class peoples lives harder. They might as well stick a knife through our hearts.
Also, how does dunno speak like a elitist? Give me all the information please.

They did well to win more votes (well, not really - they were supposed to anyway), but a lot of voters from third parties coalesced around the Tories and Labour. Ex-UKIP voters primarily going to the Tories, and people from the Greens and Lib Dems tactically voting for the 'Anyone But Tories' option. But not only that - a lot of people who never normally vote actually did this time, and they voted for Labour primarily. Higher turnout benefits Labour more than the Tories.
And my 'damaged' remark was mostly in reference to what has happened since the election, rather than before it. And I didn't say damaged beyond repair - I said they are becoming the nasty party again and need to be careful in order to avoid that label sticking. This does feel a bit like the John Major zombie government days (I'm actually rather fond of John Major btw).

Thank you.
It's an act that people have taken literally. British sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet.
I've been posting on the same forum as dunno for the past 6-7 years and he never has come across as an elitist to me lol
