also, what's with the "champagne socialist"? Stop using British terminology, speak American! Socialist genuinely sounds weird unless you're talking about the far-left. Only US measure, Bernie Sanders in primary has him doing badly or just ok in most of these districts. I'm surprised no NYC suburban district made the list; shows how NYC has the well-educated are unusually urban but it's also due how district boundaries are drawn.
There are very few actual socialists in the US. Most of the leading Democrats are Centrists. It would be better to call the Democratic Party "Champagne Centrists"

What about the 2nd and 3rd streets? Are there many art deco suburbs in the US? There are large numbers of art deco houses in suburbs like in the 2nd link.
This is Block Arcade in Melbourne, we have a couple of others too. I assume this is what Joe90 is talking about:
Yep, although the ones around here are rather more modest -usually for businesses on a tight budget. The bigger cities have flash ones. I do remember a very impressive one in Melbourne.

I don't think the sun issue is UV related, but rather just a sun that can be unpleasant for about eight months of the year.
Rain duration is still likely to be similar to here, and that means plenty of times it's going to be wet.
Drove beside an Apple Maps car for a small stretch today on the highway, it had about 8 rotating cameras attached to the roof. I assume that means they're developing their own Streetview, which is long overdue.
