Yes, very true. Snowbirds are the worst types of people. Somehow, the worst kind of personality is so prevalent with these types.

They think NYC is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Really don't get it.
That's normal though. Parisians and Londoners are the same - and of course, people in the rest of their respective countries love to hate them. Go to any country and people will hate the biggest/most powerful city. Swedes hate Stockholm, Danes hate Copenhagen, the Dutch hate Amsterdam, etc.

Even on a more local level, I've seen people from nearby towns in Yorkshire say that people from Leeds are poncy and rude.

There are plenty of New Yorkers who don't like the city or region much — Infamous92 for example, though he lived in bad neighborhoods; but I've met many others. Of course, it's silly to leave and then complain it's not like back home, but many leave because housing is too expensive.

Same here, many Londoners don't like London and move to other parts of the country. I've met many Londoners here. They don't complain about it not being London though. There are things they miss, like the underground.
