It's been pretty mild in Norman since I got back. I don't really have anything to report, beyond a brief rain shower on Saturday. It's been getting into the upper 50s or 60s during the day and down into the 30s and 40s at night.

It's been a flippin' torch the last couple of weeks. Hasn't been below freezing since January 9.

Come to think of it, this winter has been a torch interspersed with a few short cold waves. Dec. 18-20 and Jan. 5-8 were cold but the rest has been well above average for the most part.

Seasonable temperatures forecast from Thursday, January 26 on but no real cold. No ice days or lows colder than the high 20s forecast through February 2.

Maybe February will turn this around. December was slightly above average but January's been a fail with an average temperature over 10 F / 6 C above average. We just had a torch winter in 2012, do we really need another?

This winter started late, too. First frost was November 20!
