The more I look this city up, the more I find that this is my new favorite place. This seems to be a true subtropical paradise:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durban#Climate

Anyways, looking at the climate, I see that annual rainfall totals are quite low, barely breaking 40 inches. However, the rain that does fall.... falls alot during the summer. While summer rainfall totals in and of themselves are not very high at all (the wettest month has only little over 5 inches of rain, with 4 inches for the other months), they seem to occur over lots of days (the wettest summer month has 15 rain days).

With this in mind, would you all consider Durban, SA to have a wet climate?

Edit: Can someone add a poll? I forgot to add one before I submitted this post. Choices can be Yes, No, and Maybe.

40 inches of rain is not low by any means, thats alot of rain. beautiful city judging from the pictures. South africa has some awful crime rates though, is this one of those cities with alot of crime? I know thats not climate related but it always affects my judgements of a place . If the poll is just about a wet climate, I would say 40 inches of rain is impressive

40 inches of rain will never not be a wet climate.

I don't consider it particularly wet or dry. There must not be a lot of heavy rain, given the total relative to the number of days.

It's definitely more on the wet side than dry though.

I guess by global standards it is.

I meant that it was lower than I expected for a humid subtropical climate.

40 inches in lower latitude climates is certainly not wet though. In mid-latitudes I would say it's pretty wet though.
